This year’s Accounting night was held at the Plaza Ramada Hotel, on 11 December 2015. The event was directed by Adrian Yeo, alongside Prasyanth Krishnan and Sha Ruixia. The program was sponsored by McDonald Carter and ICAEW. The theme of the evening was a play from Shakespeare’s quill, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, and what an evening it was.
The registration began at 7.30 pm, as the guests filled the lobby in their suits and gowns. As the guests settled down in the Ballroom, the Masters of Ceremony kept the night interesting with their humour and all around enthusiasm. The VIP’s entered the hall around 8. 15 pm, followed by an opening speech by the Director himself.
After a few more speeches, namely by the Senior Director, Zamzuri Abdul Majid who expressed the importance of events such as this one. This was followed by the opening ceremony which included the participation of all the VIP’s in putting together a puzzle embed with the nights theme.
Shortly after, the first performer took to the stage, a Miss Dianna Yeoh. The performances truly brought the hall to life as well as the audience. One after another, from classical instrumental renditions to stunningly choreographed dances, there was excitement in the air. This was only bested by the food that was served. Elegant and delicious would be the appropriate term as dinner was served.
The event also hosted a best dressed category which a male and female were crowned as the ceremony died down. The final performance by the “Dhol Junkies” rekindled the flames as the people joined in on the fun. After the excitement had peaked, the closing ceremony commenced at 11.30 pm and after, the guests proceeded to the exit.
Accounting night 2015 was an extravaganza that will be remembered fondly for a long time to come. Even after the night was deemed over, people stayed back and reminisced over what was over.
