Apart from interviewing Mr.Fazli, we also interviewed few FOL students that attended the gathering. These students said they are giving the management and SRC a time frame so that they can get answers soon. The resource fees are actually going to come around next month so they felt it would be better if the management and SRC conduct a town hall session where they know what are they paying the resource fee for. If the students are still not satisfied and the resource fee has not been reduced, the following week they are going to apply for a permit that is within the law where they can have a peaceful protest against any such decisions. “ We do what we can to support SRC. We are doing our part by putting some effort, any small effort we can as students to support them. So we feel that a protest is a good way to show it” they said when we asked them why they all joined in this protest. The town hall session is a one-way session, even a peaceful protest is and by the amount of people being there itself shows how much support the students have for SRC and against the rule itself.
The negotiation is still going on this resource fee matter. SRC is using their own channel in helping the students by reducing the resource fee. That’s all for now, for more updates keep yourself tuned in at MMU Editorial Squad.
