"Every year, World Vision will choose a country to help to alleviate hunger and poverty. And this year, all funds raised will proceed to the Philippines, focusing on the issues of healthcare and education.", said Eudorah Wong.
The third speaker, Woody Chua, explained the issues of hunger and poverty affecting families in the Philippines through educational videos to campers and how World Vision and 30 Hour Famine channel the funds to help these families by improving access to nutritious food, education, clean water and better sanitation.
After the campers made the declaration of oath to fast for 30-hours, campers were then broken into smaller groups and proceeded their agenda with games and activities. Night performance were held with a camp fire and three theme songs were selected for the camp this year, namely: 'Hold my hand', 'Kite' and 'Love, united continually'.
On the next day, campers then left Multimedia University Malacca Campus in the morning as early as 6am to gather at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam in order to commence the countdown together.
It was heart-warming to witness Malaysian youths striving to help the underprivileged through their collective effort with full of enthusiasm and serving the needy regardless of religion, ethnicity, nationality or gender.
