The seminar, titled, The Threat of Global Terrorism In The 21st Century, was held in the main hall with Y.A.A. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Richard Malanjum (Chief Judge of Sabah & Sarawak) as the keynote speaker. He was accompanied by, Emeritus Prof. Datuk Dr. Shad Saleem Faruqi (Legal advisor, UiTM) and Datuk Ayob Mydin Pitchay (Assistant Director-General, Special Branch) (Operation/Counter Terrorism Division).
The program was scheduled to start at 8.30AM and concluded at 1.00 PM. Datuk Ayob Mydin Pitchay was unable to attend the seminar due to official matters. In his place was the campus’s own Prof Dr. Myint Zan. After the first speaker’s highly informative speech on what global terrorism is and how it has effected the country, the audience was granted the opportunity to question Datuk Seri Panglima Richard Malanjum, to satisfy any inquiries they might have had. The same opportunity was presented as with the other speakers. There was a break in between the talks to allow the attendees’ a break.
The seminar was an unparalleled success, with excellent attendance from the legal fraternity and the support of sponsors who sympathized with the MULS Vision, “To promote the understanding of the legal profession, the law, and legislative governance”.
