On the 3rd September (Saturday) until 5th September (Monday), the 17th MMU and MMC Convocation Ceremony were held in MMU Cyberjaya Campus. Unlike the previous years of convocation, the 17th Convocation Organizing Committee gave the graduates, their parents and friends a different experience of convocation as MMU also celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year.
Before every session, parents of the graduates would queue outside the Dewan Tun Chancellor where the ceremony was carried out, with the assistance of MMU Security Personnel, Marshals and other committees (all staffs), parents will then enter the hall in a systematic and orderly fashion. Graduates would proceed to certain specified venues to collect their robes and mortarboard. Prior to entering the Dewan Tun Chancellor, graduates will gather at the Multipurpose Hall and later march proudly into the hall and take their seats. The hall was divided into 2 main areas, on the left for parents and family members, on the right for the graduates. They sat according to their faculties and by alphabetical order.
MMU Board of Directors, Top Management Members and Senate together with Telekom Malaysian Board members were present as well. Not forgetting our Chancellor and Pro- Chancellor. To name a few of them present throughout the ceremony ;-
-Prof Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, President, Multimedia University.
-Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob, Chairman, Multimedia University.
-Tan Sri Dato’ Ir Muhammad Radzi, Pro- Chancellor, Multimedia University.
-Tun Dato. Seri Zaki Tun Azmi, Chancellor, Multimedia University.
A general review to summarize the ceremony in the hall was that it was executed systematically, professionally and definitely left a memorable and precious experience for proud graduates who went up the stage to receive their scroll, not forgetting all the proud and joyful parents witnessing their children at their moment of glory and success.
"You need to be yourself to succeed anything in life. Good luck."
MMUES would like to take the opportunity to congratulate all graduates for graduating. We wish the very best for their future endeavours. Regardless of which path they will take, they will always be our very own ‘Permata Dunia’.
