Love and Hugs of June.
Apart from a few great events taking place this past semester, there were other things happening around campus, like major event recruiting their sub-committees and not to leave out, the very hype gatherings of our forever favourite OC’s, in the prep to their hectic week to come.
Also, the biggest event, the highly anticipated by clubs and societies, MMU Awards 2016’ took place this semester, and it was nothing less than a bomb. Perfect event flow, left us with just good time to stay back to have good pictures for Facebook. The committee sure deserve their credits for this one.
This semester also, Campus Buzz brought our #BUZZ Popular Choice Award 2016, which the winners are decided solely by students, ourselves.
We believe, that just as much we are entitled to vote for our Student Representative Councils’, President post nominees, we are also entitled to vote for clubs and societies, for awards they deserve. This is because these organizations are put to operate by us, for us. Who could be a better jury than us? This was definitely a success for the Campus Buzz team, as we were able to strengthen our “student-based” platform. We knew the #BUZZ Popular Choice Awards 2016' was a success when the awards giving ceremony ended with many asking for it to be a tradition for the years to come.
To the winning clubs, I personally believe there is so much pride in winning this award, because the win has come to you through the strongest platform in the university, the students themselves. We from Campus Buzz wish all winners our heartiest congratulations!
As I rant further, I’ve come to realize that this would be one of my very last President Note here on BUZZ. A year journey as the Editor in Chief of MMU Editorial Squad is coming to an end. I would truly miss this bittersweet journey. This would be the best highlight of my university life; for all the nice souls I’ve known through this time, for the skills I’ve developed, for the memories I had and for the lessons I learnt. In Campus Buzz, the people work behind the scene.
You would never know the face of the people responding to your Facebook messages late mornings, or the person coming up with the out of blue memes. (So here's a picture above, so you know your BUZZ team!) All these work and success would have definitely been impossible if it is not for the amazing Buzz family, also our advisor, Mr. Jee Kian Siong from FET. In this term, the Campus Buzz team has successfully covered more than a hundred events in and out campus combined, introduced Campus Buzz to the students of MMU, and lastly, the #BUZZ Popular Choice Award 2016. I've to give the entire credit to the team for being very passionate and committed this whole time.
Lastly, before I end this note, a special shout out to all OC’s and event committee’s for sacrificing your holidays and is back in campus. To all graduating seniors and friends, best wishes for your future undertakings, and to June intake freshies, may you have the best time in the orientation. To the rest, happy holidays (nope, not too late yet), and a blessed month of Ramadhan to all Muslim brothers and sisters.
