The event’s director was Sandeep Sandhu. It all began at 8.30 a.m., when the people started to arrive. By 9.30 a.m. the registration of the participants had begun. Each were equipped with the standard issue of three packs of vibrant coloration. An unruly sense of tension and joy filled the air when the last of the participants had registered and were led into the enclosure.
The emcees, Selvantheran and Joycelyn were arguably the highlight of the event as they kept the momentum going from the beginning till the end. Alongside them was Dj Auxx, bringing some sick beats into the mix. After an initial performance by the West Melaka Dholies, the crowd began the count down. By the time 1 was reached, the sky was littered in colours and the once white shirts were within seconds flushed with shades of red, blue and any other colour they could get their hands on.
The event was segregated into 2 rounds, and the second time around, most of the committee had joined in on the fun. There was another performance by a local group called KZK, with a choreographed dance number. The music continued pounding and colours kept on flying, even in the final minutes of Holi. In the end, though it was hard to make out, everyone left with an unmistakeable smile on their painted faces.
ICS outdid themselves with Holi Fest 2016, as they had delivered exactly what was promised and more. It had certainly lived up to the hype.
