Sender : A Concerned Student
Siti Hasmah Digital Library – the enclosed edifice that is there to provide students with a place to study in silence and peace has recently been turned into a living nightmare. “SHDL DAY”, an annual festive, is being celebrated for two entire working days to commemorate the establishment of the library and to pay tribute to the library-management bodies.
Yes, the library-management staff do deserve the gratitude of everyone who gains access to the library, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that a celebration has to be thrown into the heart of the library, compromising the sanctity of the place to begin with.
Persistent commotion from the third level of the library, where the exhibition is taking place is making it quite impossible for students to focus and concentrate on their respective studies, not to mention the host/hostess of the gathering and the television broadcast crew who are also contributing to the ongoing commotion.
The authority responsible should have known better to hold the festivity in an immediate vicinity; this way they could have circumvented the said complication and could have enjoyed the occasional gathering.
